CCT - Lock Keeper Volunteer
The Cotswold Canals Trust
Maintain and inspect Cotswold Canals’ locks, perform upkeep, and support a welcoming canal.
Lock Keepers maintain and inspect the locks on the Cotswold Canals, performing routine upkeep, greasing mechanisms, clearing vegetation, and keeping areas tidy. They support the maintenance team, report issues, maintain signage, and help beautify lock surroundings. Acting as ambassadors, they ensure a welcoming canal environment, work closely with other Lock Keepers, and follow safety protocols, including wearing life vests when near water.
